Wilma Jean VanSyckle, age 82 a lifelong resident of Barryton, passed away Monday, February 19, 2007. She was born June 25, 1924 in Barryton to Clynton and Violet Berdina (Williams) Sloan. Wilma Married Rex VanSyckle on January 1, 1942. Together they ran several different businesses in Barryton and Wilma worked as a nurse at the State Home in Mt. Pleasant. Rex preceded Wilma in death on October 4, 1999. She is survived by: Her daughter: Shari (Berl) Denslow of Weidman Two sons: Larry (Donna) VanSyckle of Grand Rapids Terry (Martha) VanSyckle of Barryton 12 grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren and 5 Great-great-grandchildren. A sister: Norma Machleit of Evart and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22nd at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Brad Lambright officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Interment of cremains will take place in the spring at North Brinton Cemetery.
