Wilma Ann Garvin, age 84, of Remus, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. She was born on April 27, 1932 in Remus, MI to Edward and Bernice (Howard) Schoner. Wilma graduated from Remus High School in 1950. She was employed at the Creamery in Remus, Evart Products and later at the State Home in Mt. Pleasant. She was a devout parishioner at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Remus her entire life. Wilma volunteered at the Mecosta Senior Center, Gods Helping Hands and helped with the pancake breakfasts at the Mecosta VFW. Wilma loved going out to eat, bus trips, bingo, puzzles and crocheting blankets for the new grand babies.

Wilma is survived by five children, John (Sherry) Bick of Mt. Pleasant, Robert (Shirley) Bick of Mt. Pleasant, Gary (Jessica) Bick of Lake, Barbara (Hal) Kitchen of FL and Thomas Bick of Mecosta; a sister-in-law Mary Schoner; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Duane Schoner; one sister, Marie Wernette; and husband Kenneth Garvin.

Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Michaels Catholic Church (8929 50th Ave.) in Remus with the family greeting friends one hour prior. The family will greet friends on Thursday, February 23rd from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Wilmas name to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association or St. Michaels Catholic Church.
