William "Bryce" Wilber, age 85 of Stanwood, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born November 4, 1922 in Stanwood to William and Onalee (Johnston) Wilber. Bryce married Alberta A. Sharp on February 26, 1942 at the Stanwood Church of God parsonage. Bryce was employed by Hitachi Magna-Lock in Big Rapids, retiring in 1984. Following retirement Alberta and Bryce enjoyed 23 years at their winter home in Zephyrhills, FL. Bryce had attended the Stanwood Free Methodist Church and the Victory Baptist Church in Zephyrhills. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Alberta, four children; Carolyn (Keith) Babbitt of Stanwood, Janet (Larry) Woolworth of Parma, Kenneth (Nancy) Wilber of Stanwood, and Ronald Wilber of Elkhart, IN 12 grandchildren, 25, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. 2 sisters; Beatrice Burden and Alberta Pike both of Morley and many nieces and nephews. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson; Derek Woolworth, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Wayne Cash and Pastor Ron White officiating. Burial will be at the Stanwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
