William Ray Peppler, 68, of Big Rapids, passed away on May 11th, 2023 at Meceola Currie Comfort Home in Reed City.

William was born in Reed City, MI on May 24th, 1954, to Arthur and Lena (Keso) Peppler. He is the last born of five children and grew up with good childhood friends and many family members. He married MaryJo Engstrom on November 10th, 1979.

William lived and worked in Big Rapids and surrounding areas for most of his life. He owned a drywall business for many years and after retiring from that, he still enjoyed going out and taking on small jobs to help someone out.

William enjoyed many things throughout his life. He enjoyed taking road trips across the countryside on his motorcycle with MaryJo. Most summers he enjoyed taking the family out on the boat. William also had a knack for painting and pin stripping old classic cars out of our garage, where you would often find him in the summertime. Later in life he enjoyed traveling out west to visit his daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons.

William was preceded in death by his wife MaryJo Peppler, mother Lena Thompson, father Arthur Peppler, stepfather Fay Thompson and brother Arthur (Bud) Peppler. William is survived by his daughter Katie (Corey) Waldron of Livingston, MT, step-son Chris (Stacy) Manor of Big Rapids, MI, granddaughter Marissa Manor of Big Rapids, MI, grandsons Logan, Mason and Easton Waldron of Livingston, MT, sisters Calla (Ron) Dean of Leroy, MI, Rose Chipman of Richmond, KY, Willa Flinton of Evart, MI, sister-in-law Diana Griffus of Big Rapids, MI and mother-in-law Helen Engstrom of Big Rapids, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, MI on Friday, May 19th, 2023, at 11:00am. Immediately following the memorial service, we will be gathering at the West Cemetery in Green Charter Township, if you would like to join us for the burial. The cemetery is located at the corner of 19-mile Rd. and Northland Dr.
