William K. "Bill" McLaughlin Jr., age 56 of Morley, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born December 26, 1953 in Buffalo, NY the son of William Sr. and Doris Marie (Pocobello) McLaughlin. Bill earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Buffalo, NY. He moved to the Big Rapids area in July of 1978 when he accepted a position as Industrial Engineer for Wolverine World Wide, where he worked until 2009. Bill married Susan A. Morden of Rodney on July 28, 1979. They made their home at Chippewa Lake until moving to Brady Lake over 20 years ago. He attended the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood. Bill will be forever missed by his loving family including his wife; Susan McLaughlin of Morley; 3 sons, Curtis (Mandy) McLaughlin of Stanwood, William III (Brandi Dukes) McLaughlin of Greenville, Anthony McLaughlin of Morley; 3 grandchildren, Aiden, Delaney and Liam McLaughlin all at home with their parents in Stanwood; 1 brother, Michael (Robin) McLaughlin of Buffalo, NY; 3 sisters, Kathleen (Steven) Dombrowski of Grand Island NY, Donna (Bill) Kuczmanski of Derby, NY, Joyce Digati of Buffalo, NY, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and his mother-in-law, Ada Morden of Rodney. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Dan Morden. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 22nd at the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood with Reverend Dominic Tommy officiating. Spring interment will be at the Martiny Township Cemetery. The family will greet friends today (Thursday) at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to St. Mary's Lacks Cancer Center in Grand Rapids or the Northland United Methodist Church in Stanwood.
