William E. Johnson Jr., age 69 of Barryton, formerly of Lansing, passed away with his family at his side, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his home in Barryton. He was born September 19, 1947 in South Park to William and Dorothy (Olhansk) Johnson. Bill graduated from St. Clair High School in 1966 and had great memories from his 50th class reunion. Bill was honorably discharged from the United States Navy and retired from GM where he worked in pick up and repair. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He looked forward to coffee hour at Williams Caf, playing cards with the guys, going to the casino and spending time with family. Bill cared for his family and took them under his wing. He is survived by children, Bill (Mellonie) Johnson III of Lansing and their kids, Trevor, John, Bill IV and Alexis; Dorothy (Phil) Carrick of Mecosta and their daughters, Rachael "RC" and Jorden "JC"; Heather Bowser and family and Jenni Cole and family; siblings, Barb Dortman, Cynthia Smith, Lori Schultz, Tim Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, Ralph Kennedy, Dottie Anne Kennedy and Mary Sue Britter; and many beloved extended family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy; a brother, Walter "Dick" and a sister, Diane Riley. In celebration of a life well lived, a graveside service and military honors will take place at 12 PM (Noon) on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at North Star Cemetery (Corner of Johnson and Baldwin Roads) North Star, MI.
