William E. Hudnutt Jr., age 80 of Alma, passed away Friday, December 25, 2009. He was born July 13, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of William and Mary (Griffith) Hudnutt Sr. In his earlier years, William was a truck driver, then worked for the maintenance department at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, and later was a painter for Fred Hunter in Alma. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a tender hearted man and a devoted father and grandfather. William is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann Robinson of Big Rapids and Barbara (Jeff) Abram of Temperance, MI; 2 sons, William John Hudnutt of Winchester, VA and James Martin (Rita) Priest of New Market, TN; adored niece Sheila Hudnutt Every of Alma; 7 Grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Louise Egan; a brother, Oliver Hudnutt; and dear friend and former wife Jean. A private family graveside service will take place in the spring. Memorial contributions in William's name may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
