Weldon B. Crame, age 94 of Stanwood, MI passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Jenison. He was born August 11, 1924 in Stanwood, the son of William and Clyde (Greenfield) Crame and attended Morley High School until he joined the Navy to serve abroad a patrol craft out of Guantanamo Bay during WWII. On a weekend pass in 1944 he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ulrich of Stanwood.
After the war he found a job working for Kroger as a truck driver out of Grand Rapids. He enjoyed such things as flying his airplane, camping, traveling, building a cottage on Lake Mecosta, hobby farming and his greatest passions; hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Mary, in January of 2017; and three siblings, Thelma Baney, Arnold Crame and Vivian Stevens.
Weldon is survived by his son, James and Bonnie Crame of Grandville; three grandchildren, Heather (Bill) Decker, Jason Crame and Marcey (Duane) Yager; seven great-granddaughters, Mallory and Lauren Decker; Katelyn, Paige, Claire, and Megan Crame, Samantha Topoliski; step-great-grandsons, Jacob and Matthew Yager and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Ron Witbeck officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the Funeral Home. Weldon will be laid to rest at Higbee Cemetery in Morley.
Memorial contributions in Weldons name may be made to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging.
