Obituary

Wayne W. Taylor, age 63 of Barryton, passed away at his home Thursday, May 12, 2011. He was born December 1, 1947 in Barryton, the son of Duluth and Yvonne (Kennes). Wayne graduated from the Barryton High School in 1965 and started his college career at Ferris for a year until he was drafted in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam for three years until he was honorably discharged. In 1971 Wayne and Dianne Hewitt met and were married in 1972. They made their home in Barryton where they raised their lovely daughters. Wayne sold Ford cars for 40 years. He was an avid hunter and raised hunting dogs. Wayne loved to fish with his grandkids, golf, gamble and travel. He was good at telling stories, in which he always had one to tell. Wayne was very proud of his wife and daughters and will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Dianne Taylor of Barryton; his daughters, Lauri (Steve) Grace of Shepherd, Melissa Taylor, United States Air Force Active Duty, and Tina Harem of SD and Bethany (Adam) Cornell of Swartz Creek; his grandchildren, Stone and Shayden Smith, Courtney and Christian Grace and Matthew Harem; his brothers, Al (Diane) Flower of FL and William Flower of Nashville, MI; a sister-in-law, Rita Taylor of Barryton; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Edward "Doc" Taylor. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Deacon Bob Cathcart officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday the 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Brown Cemetery following the service.
