Wayne Blakeslee May, 92, beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend, has gone to be at peace with his maker on December 3, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Esther May. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean May; his children, David and Linda May of Remus, Sandra Roberts of Mecosta, and Daniel and Jill May of Remus; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Vernon May of Remus; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Wayne was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather whose love for his family knew no bounds, and he was a faithful and generous friend. He was an instrument of Gods grace, welcoming all people with genuine love and hospitality. It brought him great joy to see Gods children gathered together in community, whether in times of struggle or times of joy. He was a man of deep and abiding faith, whose praise and worship of God continued after he left church on Sunday mornings. He lived his faith every day. Wayne was a leader in the community and wherever he went. He followed the example of his Lord and led with the heart of a servant. He was an extraordinarily gifted man, and he was blessed in his life with many successes, but he always remembered that these blessings came from Gods hand and not his own, and that he had been entrusted with them so that he could share them with joy and without hesitation, inspired by a deep and humble gratitude to his Lord. Wayne sought out neighbors who needed a word of encouragement. He offered wise counsel and soft-spoken challenges. He looked for the image of God in all people, and he saw in them not only what was good but also what was holy. Wayne said, as he was preparing to leave this world, "It has always been my prayer that others can see Gods grace by how I live." He trusted in Gods abundant grace all his life, and it was by that grace that he was received into the presence of Christ on December 3, 2017. His family gives thanks for his life, his love, and his witness to the Gospel. To God be the glory.
