Obituary

Wanda J. Steinke, age 79 of Chippewa Lake passed away Friday, November 2, 2012. She was born March 14, 1933 in Sheridan the daughter of John and Dorothy (Regis) Lamb. Wanda lived in Montcalm County for many years and later moved to the Big Rapids area to make her home. She also enjoyed winters at her home near Sun City Florida for many years. Wanda retired from Gibsons Manufacturing in Greenville. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Big Rapids and faithfully attended the Sun City Christian Center Church when in Florida. Wanda enjoyed boating, golfing and the many activities that lake front living allows. She was a member of Eagles Aerie # 2535 Ladies Auxiliary of Big Rapids and V.F.W. Post #3701 Ladies Auxiliary in Lakeview. Wanda is survived by her beloved family including her three children; Gale (Barb) Rodarmer of Lakeview, Linda (Mike) Perks of Stanton, Karen (Bruce) Thiel of Reed City; 12 Grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dixie Riggle of Granite Falls, WA; several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Vernon Steinke, Norman Hagedorn, and Lyle Stephens; a son, Michael Rodarmer; a step-son, Scott Steinke; a great-grandson, Joshua Root and a brother John Lamb. A memorial service for Wanda will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 24, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (726 Fuller Ave., Big Rapids) with Pastor Gerald Switzer officiating. Memorial contributions in Wanda's name may be made to either the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Eagles Aerie #2535, both of Big Rapids. Arrangements entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
