Walter "Jack" Pauly, age 85, died peacefully Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at his home in Barryton surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 26, 1938 in St. Clair, the son of Arthur and Lena (Schweihofer) Pauly. Jack worked as a general contractor for over 50 years in the Flint area and owned Unity Construction. He liked to stay busy and always had a project to be worked on. Jack collected classic John Deere tractors and enjoyed tinkering on them. He was ingenious; always inventing new tools and gadgets that would help him get any job done. In his spare time, he loved hunting and fishing on the property. Jack had a giving and kind heart and would help anyone in need. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and telling stories. Often you could find him enjoying the view out his window looking at the wildlife and river. He will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Linda Pauly of Barryton; children, Gregory (Cathy) Pauly of Davison, Shannon (Scott) Guy of Lakeview; sister, Mary Wells; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and a few nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jenny Sparks; and step-son, DuWayne LaLonde. Memorial contributions may be made in Jacks name to Corewell Hospice.
