Virginia Louise Meihn, age 90 of Barryton, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Grand Rapids. She was born on March 19, 1927 in Muskegon to Louis and Beatrice (Branden) Palmer. Virginia graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1945. She raised her family in the Detroit area and was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank in Detroit for close to 30 years.

Virginia retired to Barryton in 1981 and was active in the Barryton Rebekah Lodge. When Virginia was able she enjoyed bowling with friends.

Virginia is survived by three children, Joan Newsome of Romulus, Michael (Susan) Meihn of Dexter and Robert (Flaviana) Meihn of Barryton; a stepdaughter and caregiver, Emmalyn Eder of Barryton, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many extended family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy in 1996 and two sisters, Betty Lake and Patty Palmer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29th at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Virginias name can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
