Virginia "Jean" Denslow, age 92 of Remus, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019. She was born June 13, 1926 in Eaton Rapids, the daughter of Chester and Mary (Wheat) Isanhart. Jean graduated from Barryton Rural Agricultural High School. She married Nile Denslow on November 11, 1944 and together they raised their family in the Barryton and Remus area. Jean enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, and decorating cakes. She was a member of the Mecosta VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Barryton Rod and Gun Club, and the former Barryton Rebekahs. Jean is survived by seven children, Gale (Cherie) Denslow of Mecosta, Darwin (friend Tracy) of Remus, Nile Denslow Jr. of Barryton, Tommy (Kathie) Denslow of Evart, Diane (John) Bishop of Remus, Ricky (Shirley) Denslow of Remus, and Cindy (Shellie) Wells of Grand Ledge; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Denslow of Mt. Pleasant; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donnabelle (Cleon) McLachlan of Evart and Beverly Burger of Farwell; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Isanhart of Barryton and Zetta Elmore of Barryton; and many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nile Denslow on April 8, 2005; son, David Denslow; grandson, Tony; five brothers, Larry, Donald, Archie, Leo, and Roy Isanhart. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the Funeral Home. Jean will be laid to rest at Flake Cemetery in Barryton. Memorial contributions may be made in Jeans name to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging Transportation.
