Violet Marie Wright, age 92, of Brinton and Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at North Woods in Farwell. She was born on April 9, 1921 in Owosso, MI to J.C. and Loma (Thayer) Husted. Violet married Russell "Pete" Wright at Gilmore Church in 1938. She enjoyed being a homemaker, making crafts, crocheting and quilt making. Violet and Pete looked forward to dancing and schuffling (in Florida) together when able. Violet was a member of the Brinton Chapel for numerous years and made wreaths in Barryton for the Capital building in Lansing. Violet is survived by one son Virl (Joann) Wright of Farwell; two sisters; Isabella Tupper and Rozena Merriehew; 6 grandsons, Russell (Marge) Slupe, Robert (Kim) Slupe, Kurt (Bobbie Jo) Slupe all of Grand Rapids, Michelle (Mitch) Hunt of Kalkaska, Nolan Wright of Kalkaska, Colin Jay Wright of Lake; 5 step grandchildren, Tim Phelps of Owosso, Troy Wright of Toledo, Pamala Wright of Monroe, Tonda Wright of Rockwood and Tisha Begaman of Ida; 23 great-grandchildren and many great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pete in 2002; a daughter, Evelyn June Slupe; and siblings: Erma Jean Goodwill, Gladys Rousch, Raymond Husted, Ron Husted and Gerald Husted. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Interment will take place in the spring at North Brinton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and two hours prior to Saturday's service from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Daggett Funeral Home.
