Obituary

Viola C. Wright, age 101 of Lake, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant. She was born on August 23, 1913 in Beal City to Fred and Catherine (Endres) Smith. Viola married Wilbur Wright and they made their home and raised their family in Pontiac until Wilbur's retirement. Upon retirement they moved to the Wright family farm in Lake, MI. Viola was a rivet inspector at the Ford River Rouge Plant during WWII. Viola enjoyed her player piano and bird watching. She was a good cook and a strong woman. Viola is survived by one son James Wright of Lake; 2 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 14 great- great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends that have been blessed to have Viola in their lives so long. Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Wilbur, a daughter Kathryn "Kay" Aldrich; one granddaughter Kelly (Aldrich) Schafer; and 3 sisters, Elizabeth Wickenhiser, Marie Shettler, and Edith DeVaney. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Chaplin Karon Latham officiating. Interment will be at Sherman City Cemetery in Weidman. The family will greet friends on Monday, February 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Viola's name would be preferred to Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.
