Vernondean Don Harper Sr., age 71 of Morley, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 22, 1935 in Woodland, MI to Howard and Minnie (Mills) Harper. Vernondean was honorably discharged from the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a self employed carpenter and had lived in the Morley area for the past 30 years. Vernondean is survived by his dear wife; Norma J. Harper of Morley Five children; Brenda (Jim) Lay of Lakeview Barbara June (Chris) Taylor of Lake Odessa Vernondean Don Jr. (Linda) Harper of Big Rapids Richard Harper of Big Rapids David Harper of Morley 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren a brother; Arden (Patricia) Harper of The Villages, FL and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Vernondean was preceded in death by a sister Phylene Klahn. Funeral services will take place 12:00 p.m. noon, Wednesday, December 5th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Reverend George Speas officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home Tuesday, (today) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
