IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Valerie
Harley
September 30, 1953 – May 26, 2025
Valerie "Val" Jean Harley, 71, of Stanwood, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025.
Born on September 30, 1953, Val grew up with a love for family, adventure, and creativity. She graduated from Milford High School in 1971 and went on to live a life filled with warmth, resilience, and above all else love for her family.
Val married the love of her life Charlie Harley. Val's joy came from spending time with her grandchildren—chasing after them with laughter, painting rocks with them, making fairy gardens, and keeping in touch through regular phone calls that meant the world to them.
Val spent her time between Stanwood, Michigan, and Apache Junction, Arizona, where she spent winters under the desert sun. A spirited traveler, Val and Charlie traveled across the entire United States on their motorcycle with friends.
She cherished holidays spent with family and brought warmth, humor, and kindness into every gathering. Val's creative touch, generous heart, and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Harley; children: Joe (Teresa) Harley and Jim Harley; grandchildren: Kayla, Alex, Trenton, Tesa, and Piper; her mother, Marilyn Noder; and her siblings Bob (Sandy) Doran, Lorraine Carey, and Lynn Love.
Val was predeceased by her father: Jack Doran; step-father: Herman Noder; brother: Randy Doran; and grandson: Tyrese Harley, whose memories she carried in her heart always.
A celebration of Val's life will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4-7:00 P.M. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids. Memorial Contributions may be made according to the Susan B Wheatlake cancer foundation or a C. O. P. D. research foundation
