Tony Edward Strong, age 47, formerly of Vermontville went to be with Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Ashville, N.C. where he has resided the last 20 years. Tony was born on July 28, 1967 in Lansing and was adopted by Ty and Paulette (Hart) Strong in November of 1975. Tony was strong willed and loved his family. When he was younger he was active in 4-H, liked gardening and always looked forward to Sunday school. He enjoyed drawing, ceramics, fishing, hunting and hiking. He later married Katie and they had one daughter Saraphine that was adopted by his sister Melissa. He was looking forward to coming home and spending time with the family he loved so much. Tony is survived by his daughter, Saraphine Ann Strong; Parents, Ty and Paulette; a sister Melissa Strong all of Barryton, a sister, Mariann Goelz of Holland, a sister, Sue (Kim) Koos of Charlotte; one brother, Tim (Danielle) Kellogg of Maryland; a Grandmother, Margaret McNeilly of Mt. Pleasant; a dear friend, Dawn Tracy of Ashville and several nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts, Uncles and all the staff at Solace Center (Hospice) and W.N.C. Ray of Hope both of Ashville, N.C. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Oliver and Lois Strong, Roger Hart and Vivian Hart, and Edwin McNeilly. A memorial service will take place 1:00 p.m. May 2nd at the Barryton Church of Christ with Pastor Rick Lippert officiating.
