Obituary

Timothy Mark Quinlan III "TJ", a 19-year-old resident of Morley, passed away on February 3, 2018, in a single-car accident in Rogers Heights. TJ was born on February 23, 1998, and immediately became an irreplaceable part of his family. With an infectious smile, an ever-present sense of humor, and an effortless, all-encompassing love for everyone he encountered, TJ couldnt help but impact the lives of those around him. After being home-schooled for his first ten years of education, TJ attended Morley Stanwood High School, where he excelled as a student, graduating with highest honors in the top 10% of his class. TJ went on to attend Ferris State University with numerous scholarships, and enjoyed working part-time for both the colleges filming department and at the Qdoba restaurant close to campus. In addition, TJ was a valued member of Green Country Church, where, for the past seven years, he undertook the responsibility of running the church sound system. He was there every Sunday, without fail, his love and faith in Jesus Christ as much a part of him as the grin on his face and the leather duster on his shoulders. With his zany sense of "style" and his irrepressible wit, TJ made a lasting impression everywhere he went. From his numerous roles in theatre productions, to his near-obsession with all things D&D and video- and strategy-game-related, he combined both his overwhelming creativity and his logical intelligence in a uniquely "TJ" way.

He will be missed by both of his parents, Kathryn Quinlan and Timothy Mark Quinlan II, his sisters, Nicole, Maeve, and Shannon, along with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, countless friends, and his beloved cat, Onyx. On Friday, February 9th, the family will be holding visitation at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids, from 2pm-4pm, and again from 6pm-8pm. On Saturday, February 10th, there will be another visitation at the Trinity Fellowship Church in Big Rapids, from 10am-11am, followed by the funeral service from 11am-12pm. The family is extending an open invitation to all friends and loved ones to attend any or all of these events. "Never say goodbye, because saying goodbye means going away, and going away means forgetting." ~ J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan Memorial contributions may be made in TJs name to the Family. They will disperse them to organizations meaningful to TJ (for example, Green Country Church and theatre). There will be stationary available for friends and family to share memories and stories of TJ. The family will make a book from these to look back on.
