Obituary

Thomas G. Willmore, age 74 of Stanwood, formerly of Alabama, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at his home. He was born February 25, 1944 in Edmore the son of Norman and Grace (Jenks) Willmore. Tom was honorably discharged from the United States Airforce. He owned and operated "Wake & Trail" in Rogers Heights until failing health forced him to retire. Tom was active in his community; he was a member of the Stanwood Lions Club and was a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America for over ten years. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Willmore of Stanwood; three children, Carol (Matthew) Kuhn of Timnath, CO, Daniel (Sarah) Willmore of Newaygo, Jonathan (Bree) Willmore of Morley; six grandchildren, Spencer Kuhn, Jake and Sam Eager, Emmett Willmore, Taffeta and Bryce Hackett; a brother, Joseph (Sandra) Willmore of Sheridan; a sister, Patricia (Thomas) Garnett of North Chesterfield, VA; many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Fred, Michael and infant John Willmore. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Kaye Ferguson-Patton officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Memorial contributions in Toms name may be made to the Emmett Willmore Supplemental Needs Trust.
