Thomas Milner, 76, of Hersey, Michigan, passed away at home on June 26, 2025. He was born on November 28, 1948 in Wyandotte, Michigan to his parents, Thomas Milner II and Thelma (Kugler) Haefler.

Thomas earned a master's degree in social work, a reflection of his deep compassion and commitment to helping others. He also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he fought in the Vietnam War. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in fishing, traveling, and watching classic Western films. Thomas had a special fondness for caring for his beloved dogs. One of his greatest pleasures was taking his wife, Margaret, to concerts, sharing their love of music and making lasting memories together.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Milner; children: Sean Milner and Alan (Kristen) Shifflett; step-children: Maria Tijerina, Ajia Rousseau, Michael Morrow, Daniel Morrow, and Bianca Morrow; grandchildren: Ethan, Sadie, Zach, Caleb, Eli, Gracie, and Emma; step-grandchildren: Austin, Jacquelyn, and Hannah; and sister: Nancy (Jim) Fondaw.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Milner II and Thelma (Kugler) Haefler; and siblings: Kandy Emerson and Jerry Milner.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, 7:00 P.M. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids. Visitation will be held from, 4– 8:00 P.M., at Dagget Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids.  He will be laid to rest with Military Honors on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Memorial Contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice at 1239 E Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, the ASPCA, or a military organization of the donor's choice.
