Thelma S. Gilster, age 77 of Reed City, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021.
She was born July 5, 1944 in Salisbury, Maryland the daughter of George H. and Floyd (Morris) Thawley.
Thelma moved to Indiana in 1969 to be near her brother who was a minister at the time. She married Reginald Gilster in Jeffersonville, IN on October 2, 1976 at the Branham Tabernacle. The family moved to Arizona where their son Samuel was born. The family eventually moved to Michigan settling in Reed City in 1987. Thelma worked her entire life as a nurses aide, specializing in home care.
She is survived by her husband; Reginald Gilster, her son Samuel Gilster both of Reed City; a brother, Arthur Lee (Catherine) Thawley of Felton, Delaware; sister-in-law, Beulah Thawley of Salisbury, North Carolina and five nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George Robert Thawley and a sister Esther Thawley.
Thelma was laid to rest at the Curtice Cemetery near Bitely.
