Tessie May Darnell died April 15, 2008 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She was 97 years old. Tessie was born August 31, 1910 in Mancelona, Michigan to Mamie and George Wardell. She lived in the Weidman and Lake area most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Farwell. On August 31, 1926 Tessie married Neil Darnell. He preceded her in death in 1978. Surviving are five sons, Clarence (Buck) and Jeanne of Grand Blanc, Robert and Anita of Clare, James and Lynda of Umatilla, Florida, Ronald and Lynn of Flint and Michael and Melody of Farwell: two daughters Roberta and Marshall Lowery of Barryton and Gloria Sullivan of Overland Park, Kansas: two sisters Mabel and Charles Dickinson of Kingsley and Maxine Ouvry of Mancelona. Tessie had twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, twenty-four great great grandchildren, one great great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton on Monday, April 21st , at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Nestor officiating. Internment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 20th from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Farwell.
