Terry L. Van Syckle age 64, of Barryton passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Carson City on March 25, 1948 to Norman "Rex" and Wilma (Sloan) Van Syckle. Terry was honorably discharged from the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On November 5, 1976 he married Martha L. Griesa in Sylvan, Michigan. They made their home in the Barryton area where they raised their family. Terry has been passionate about being an auctioneer for the last 35 years. If he could, he was willing to help and volunteer in the Barryton community and for those that asked or needed anything. He enjoyed trips around the neighborhood, at Martiny Lake, in his golf cart and loved to fish and paint when he was able. Terry was a member of the Marion Eagles Aerie #4087 and the American Legion. Terry is survived by the family he loved to spend his time with, Martha of Barryton; children, Troy Eisenbach of Barryton, Amanda (Shane) McAnany of Sumner and Richard Van Syckle of Barryton; a brother, Larry Van Syckle of Florida, a sister Shari (Berl) Denslow of Weidman; 10 grandchildren and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Rex and Wilma and a grandson Cody Eisenbach. A celebration of Terry's life will be held at his home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Memorial donations in Terry's name can be made to Hospice of Michigan.
