Terry L. Kloostra, 72, former custodian for 29 years, at Northwest Elementary (Kellogsville Public Schools), passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at home in Mecosta. He was born on June 10, 1944, in Grand Rapids to Neal and Joan (Besteman) Kloostra. Terry was a volunteer fireman on the Wyoming Fire Dept. Station 3 for numerous years. In 2003 he retired from the school system and moved to his cottage on Boom Lake in Mecosta. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Meceola Country Club and the Goldwing Road Riders Association. He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughters, Terri Stevens, Kris (Don) Sytsma and Sherri Kueppers; step-daughter, Angela (Brian) Wernette; twelve grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Kay) Kloostra and Marlene Turner; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom Kloostra.
