Terry Hammink, age 44 of Paris, fought colon cancer. On June 27, 2017 he went home peacefully, finally knowing his worth in life by accepting the love of his family and friends. He was born November 2, 1972 in Grand Rapids. He enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Terry remained a true patriot his entire life. He married Renee Vos and they made their home in the Mecosta County Area. Terry loved the outdoors. He liked to fish and spend summers on the water at Chippewa Lake. Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Renee of Paris, MI; two daughters, Ashley (fianc, Shane Allen) Hammink and Victoria (Hunter) Cutler all of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren, Miguel, Makajah, Averean, Addisyn, Jackson and his mother, Gayle Vanwarmer of Grand Rapids. Terry was preceded in death by many loved ones. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Matthew McRoberts officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, June 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Burial and military honors will follow the funeral service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mecosta.
