Ted R. Hall, age 82, previously of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was born September 13, 1940 in Muskegon, the son of Cleo and Betty (Trap) Hall. Ted was a payroll clerk for the United States Air Force for four years before being honorably discharged. After the military he worked as a social worker for Bay City for three years and the Big Rapids volunteer coordinator for 27 years. He was a line dancing instructor at Rainbow Park and 6th Avenue Mobile Park. Ted also volunteered with the Special Olympics for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, hiking and camping with his wife, Lorraine and family. Lorraine and Ted enjoyed being snowbirds beginning in 2001 until 2015 when they officially moved to Zephyrhills, Florida. They have been members of First United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills for the past 8 years. Most of all Ted loved life and cherished the time he could spend with his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lorraine of Zephyrhills, FL previously of Big Rapids; Candy (David) Reichert of Stanwood, Dawn (Adam) Fredrick of Big Rapids, John (June) Hall of Big Rapids; grandchildren, Sheana (Carl II), Cody, Renee, Megan, Jake; great-grandchildren, Carl III, Crystal; sister-in-law, Audrey Hall; few nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Don Hall.
