Susan Marie Ruggles, age 77 of Remus, passed away peacefully Friday, July 16, 2021 at her home. She was born January 31, 1944 the daughter of John and Priscilla (Grieme) Stibich. Sue was raised in Detroit and graduated from Immaculata High School. She attended Siena Heights University in Adrian where she met Ian "John" Ruggles who was attending the neighboring Adrian College. They were married in 1965 and remained in Adrian to continue their education. In 1970 the family moved to Remus to make their home where Sue returned to college and earned her Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University. Sue enjoyed her time as a stay-at-home mom and was very involved in her kids school activities. When the children attended St. Michael School, she was a classroom aide and headed up the Reading is Fundamental program. Sue was a devout Catholic her entire life and a member of St. Michael Church in Remus, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. During retirement, Sue worked at the Wheatland Township Library, where she especially enjoyed helping the children. Sue is survived by her husband, Ian "John" Ruggles; two daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Johns, Melissa (Chris) Stirn all of Remus; son, John (Zendi) Ruggles of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren, Todd (Carla) Thomas and Paige (Donnie) Murphy; Kelsee, Callee and Bailee Stirn; Ian, Sophia, John "Ben" and Gabriel Ruggles; five great-grandchildren, Collin, Bryce, Keaton, Liam and Finley; two sisters, Kathy (Gary) Parlove of Lake Angeles, Jane (Bob) Ahnert of North Carolina; four brothers, Jack (Tina) Stibich of Royal Oak, Bill (Jerry) Stibich of Palm Springs, Peter (Diane) Stibich of Troy, Michael (Anne) Stibich of Kentwood; many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Resurrection will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Michael Church in Remus with Father Thomas Boufford officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to Mass at the church. Committal will immediately follow Mass at St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Sues name be made to either the Wheatland Township Library or St. Michael School in Remus.
