Susan Kay Jancek, 77, of Big Rapids, Michigan, passed away on August 14, 2025, with her family by her side. Born on January 27, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan to Robert and Irene (Karchinski) Strasser, Susan grew up in Whitehall, Michigan, graduating from Whitehall High School.

Susan traveled to Denver, Colorado in 1970 where she lived and made great memories to share. She then returned to Michigan where she married the love of her life, Randall Jancek. Susan and Randall married on June 24, 1972, in Whitehall, Michigan, and they spent 53 cherished years together.

Susan was employed by Michcon/DTE in Big Rapids, Michigan as a secretary for land and survey department, retiring in 2009.

Her greatest gift was family. Susan, also known as Grammy, absolutely adored spending time with her two grandsons, Grayson & Jackson. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to the mountains and the sunny south where she could walk the sandy beaches. Susan was a wonderful, dedicated mother who was always there when you needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love. Susan was a lovely, classy, fashionable woman. She loved to shop and stay in touch with the latest fashion, also keeping her home decorated perfectly.

Susan was a devoted servant of Christ, a member of St. Paul Campus Parish, Big Rapids, Michigan, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Susan is survived by her husband: Randall Jancek; daughter: Amanda Holman; grandsons: Grayson and Jackson; siblings: Karla (Dave) Will, Jim (Gayle) Strasser, and Bill (Alexis) Strasser; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by both parents, as well as her sister, Judy.

A Memorial Mass will be conducted on Friday, August 22, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Campus Parish in Big Rapids, Michigan with visitation at 10:00 A.M. prior to mass, a luncheon to follow.
