Stephen J. Berens, 68, of Morley, passed away on April 9, 2025. He was born on December 23, 1956, in Grand Rapids, the son of Eugene and Jane Patricia (Maczka) Berens. Stephen was united in marriage to Kathryn, who preceded him in death in 2008.

Stephen dedicated over 40 years of his life to the concrete and construction industry, working for several companies as well as running his own jobs throughout the area. His hard work, skill, and dedication were evident in every project he touched. A true craftsman, he took pride in his work and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Known for his sense of humor and ability to light up a room, Stephen loved family gatherings, where he could often be found joking and getting the last laugh. Through all the humor he was devoted to his family. The man would do anything for his family, and he lived and breathed for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Theresa (Andrew) Brotherton and Travis Berens; Stepchildren: Brandie (Dennis) Finkbeiner and Howard (Heather) Bradford. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; Sisters: Antonia (Raymond) Matulaitis, Barbara Berens, and Deborah Eerdmans; Brothers: Jim Berens and Joe Berens; along with numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Kathy.
