Stanley J. Kerzmien, age 88 of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Altercare of Big Rapids. He was born March 21, 1921 in Detroit. Stanley was honorably discharged from the United States Navy serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He married Evelyn Ballard on May 10, 1958 in Macomb County and they made their homes in Mt. Clemens, Roseville, Gaylord and then moved to Big Rapids about 5 years ago. He is survived by 4 children; James Scott of Shelby Township, Dianna (Dennis) McCabe of Rochester Hills, Sandra (Ted) Doan of Rochester Hills, Sherry (John) Kaurich of Stanwood; daughter-in-law; Kathy Scott of Grand Blanc; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by a son Dale Allen Scott and his beloved wife Evelyn on December 25, 2007. A graveside memorial service for Stanley and Evelyn Kerzmien will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley with Father Lam T. Le officiating and military honors under the auspices of the United States Navy.
