Stanley Eugene Carey, 84, of Morley, passed away on July 24, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was born on February 21, 1941 to Orville and Della (Thumser) Carey in Newaygo County, Michigan. Stan married his devoted wife Helen (Adrianse) Carey on October 15, 1960 in Croton, and for 64 years they raised their beautiful family.

Stan was the dedicated owner and operator of Mohawk Transport for 32 years. Stan enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling on cruise ships, raising cattle, playing cards, and watching sports. He was a staple at local sports games, and could not turn down the chance to watch his family or support the local community. For 32 years, Stan was a valued member of the Deerfield Township Board. He was a faithful member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Howard City, and above all, he was dedicated to his family.

Stanley will be dearly missed by his wife, Helen; siblings: Fred, Larry, Marie (Don) Kohn; children: James (Leslie) and Dotty (Mike) Estep; grandchildren: Megan (Thad), Stephen (Jody), Emily (Phil), Samantha (Craig), Michael (Taylor), Thomas, Samantha (Isaac); and great-grandchildren: Gage, Greyson, Natalie, Griffin, Leo, and Nolan.

He has joined the following loved ones in Heaven, parents: Orville and Della; sons: Timothy and Thomas; brother: Robert; and sister: Phyllis Hall.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, July 28, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church: 18645 W Howard City-Edmore, Howard City, MI 49329. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 5-7:00 P.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church and on Monday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at the Aetna Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made according to Bethel Lutheran Church or Morley-Stanwood Sports Booster.
