Shirley "Joyce" Sabat, age 66 of Weidman, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at McClaren Central Michigan after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born on December 13, 1945 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Arzo and Mary Sipes. Shirley was raised in Arkansas before moving to the Barryton/Weidman area in 1972 where she raised her family and has resided ever since. Shirley was an expert at Dr. Mario and enjoyed cross stitch, puzzles and mushrooming. She was disappointed if she had to miss work and cherished the time she got to spend with her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by: four children, Peter Sabat of Quincy, Laura (Don) Loomis of Weidman, Dale Sabat of Mt. Pleasant and Tim (Kara) Sabat of Coleman; 17 grand children, 3 sisters and 1brother. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters. Services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2012 with the family greeting friends from Noon until 2 PM at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. Interment will be at Sherman City Cemetery.
