Shirley M. Reynolds, age 86 of Mecosta, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at home. She was born July 3, 1929 in Lansing the daughter of Manley and Thelma (Torgerson) Martin. Shirley married Wilbert Reynolds on November 8, 1947 in Grand Ledge. They made their home in Holt until moving to the farm in Rodney in 1967. Shirley was employed by Evart Products until her retirement. She was a member of the Chippewa Lake Birthday Club and the Chippewa Lake Community Church. She is survived by her four children; Vickie (Richard) Johnson of Mecosta, Jeff Reynolds of Punta Gorda, FL, Debbie (Ed) Brigham of Marion, Greg (Sue) Reynolds of Mecosta; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Wilbert on February 17, 2003, a great-grandson, Zachary and a sister and her husband, Beverly and Tony Schneider. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Chippewa Lake Community Church with Pastor Roger Bennett officiating. The family will greet friends two hours prior to services at the church, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Spring burial will be at Martiny Township Cemetery. Shirley was a proud cancer survivor, with that in mind memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the Chippewa Lake Community Church.
