Shirley A. Gonder, age 80 of Big Rapids, MI, formerly of Wayne, OH and Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. surrounded by her family. She was born January 6, 1937 in Walkerton, Ontario, Canada, to Noah and Amelia (Schwehr) Strader. Shirley married the love of her life, Morley E. Gonder on September 4, 1954 in Hanover, Ontario. After moving to Wayne, OH in 1967, Shirley was an accountant for Ohio Farmers in North Baltimore, OH and later for Blanchard Valley Co-Op in Findlay, OH. She retired in 2000. Those who survive are her daughter, Deborah (Bruce) Ducat of Big Rapids; son, Daniel M. Gonder of Bowling Green, OH; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley E. Gonder; husband; four sisters and seven brothers. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life with family will be conducted in Ontario.
