Sheryl Marie Stirn, age 49 of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, February 12, 2012. She was born June 18, 1962 in Harvey, Illinois the daughter of Roy and Darlene (Henzlik) Tiede. Sheryl was a graduate of Ferris State University where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Records. She was a good athlete and enjoyed several sports; including playing racquetball for Ferris and helping her husband coach baseball. Sheryl worked for many years at Mecosta Health Services in Big Rapids and also taught classes at Baker College in Cadillac. She will be lovingly remembered by many people and forever missed by her family, including her husband Jeff Stirn; four children, that will always know they had the best mother; Jenny Wyly of Benton Harbor, Chad (Rachel) Wyly of Fort Pierre, SD, Tyler Stirn of Reed City, Jesse Stirn of Big Rapids; four grandchildren; her father, Roy (Donna) Tiede of Surprise, AZ; two sisters, Susan Tiede of Santa Fe, NM, Sandra (Barry) Beal of Evergreen, CO; a brother Gary Tiede of Colorado and several nieces and nephews. Sheryl was preceded in death by her mother Darlene Tiede. The family will greet friends on Wednesday at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids from 12:00 p.m. noon until 3:00 p.m. with burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sheryl's name may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Great Lakes Home Hospice.
