Shelva Jean (Cousineau) Davis, age 85, died peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Fremont. She was born April 28, 1937 in Reed City, the daughter of Charles and Flossie (Jones) Cousineau. Shelva graduated from Platteville High School in Colorado in 1955. She was a member of Newaygo United Methodist Church. Shelva enjoyed crocheting and coloring; but most of all she loved family gatherings. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Lynne) Davis, Donald (Patty) Davis; step-sons, John (Penny) Davis and Gary Davis; grandchildren, Brianna, Dakota, Riley, Gabriel, Michael Davis; sister-in-law, Jean Cousineau; many nieces and nephews. Shelva was preceded in death by her parents; brother Russell Cousineau; sisters, Marilyn Ruth Reed and Shirley Jane Hardin; step-son, Frank Davis; brother-in-law, Bert Reed; and nephew Paul Hardin. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2023 at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with visitation an hour prior to services on Friday at the Funeral Home.
