Shelby June Megan Finney, age 14 of Remus, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Saginaw Covenant Hospital. She was born June 24, 1996 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Mike Finney and Angie (Handy) Tuttle. Shelby was a member of the Barryton Church of Christ her entire life and was very active in the youth group. She enjoyed swimming, going hunting for mushrooms, fishing with her brother and being a Chippewa Hills cheerleader. As a four year old Shelby drove her first car, a pink Barbie jeep, and has been driving ever since. She always considered herself a princess and it came true when she was crowned the Barryton Lilac Festival Princess. Shelby will be greatly missed by her family and will always be their little princess with a giving heart. Shelby's memory will live on through her family, those who loved her and her friends, but also by those who received her generous gift through organ donation. She is survived by her parents Mike Finney of Barryton and Angie (Jason) Tuttle of Remus; her grandparents, Linda and Willie Finney of Barryton, Marilyn Dean of Fowlerville, Pam (Del) Engler of Remus; a great-grandma June Dean; Granny and Grandpa Kern; 3 brothers, PFC Matthew (Becca) Ellis II, Cody Ellis and Cameron Tuttle; a sister Ahnalii Tuttle; her aunts, uncles and cousins, Scott, Sue and Brooke Finney, Denise, Roger, Nick and Jordan Maeder, Paulette and Ron DeVries and family, Jeanifer Brewer and family, Amanda and Annabella Tuttle, Robert and Tammy Tuttle; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Great-Grandpa Leroy Dean, Great-Grandma and Grandpa Handy, Great-Grandma and Grandpa Denslow and Great-Grandma and Grandpa Finney. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Chippewa Hills High School Gymnasium with Reverend Randy Piatt officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service time. The family will greet friends at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Flake Cemetery following the service.
