Sharon L. Sarns, age 79 of Morley, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023. She was born November 8, 1943 in Flint the daughter of Clifford and Isabel Van Zant. Sharon graduated from Buckley High School in 1961. While at a dance hall in Cadillac she met a young Douglas V. Sarns, it was love at first sight for him and the couple were married April 20, 1963. Douglas was in the Airforce and his military career sent them throughout the United States. They raised their family in California for a few years and eventually settled in Paris and Morley. Sharon worked as a bookkeeper for Norge Appliance Warehouse in Muskegon. Later the family established Sarns Gun Shop in Morley where she worked the daily operations of the store. Sharon was a member of Christs Harvest Ministries in Big Rapids. She loved being with her family, entertaining in her home and going to lunch with church friends and family. Sharon liked to knit and sew. She was an excellent shot and was a successful whitetail deer hunter locally and traveled to Wyoming to hunt antelope and mule deer. Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Douglas V. of Morley; children, Douglas W. (Lori) Sarns of Cedar Springs, Christine (Bill) Huss of Hersey; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Drake of Traverse City; sister, Dauri (Paul) Howell of Lakeview; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Darlene and birthmother Deveres (Paul) Campbell. Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Christs Harvest Ministries, 701 Woodward Ave, Big Rapids with Pastor Lynn Winans officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday also at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. Sharon will be laid to rest at Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley.
