Sharon Lynn Cox, 68, of Big Rapids, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Samuel and Mary (Hall) Reeves.
On March 1, 1975, Sharon married the love of her life, James Cox. Together, they shared nearly 50 years of wedded bliss, creating a partnership and bond that touched everyone they met. Their love was the foundation of a family cherished by many, and Sharon was embraced by many as Mom.
Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked in downtown Big Rapids before owning and operating Sharons Country Restaurant in Rogers Heights. Her restaurant wasnt just a place of business; it was her place of friendship and community, where patrons became lifelong friends.
A woman of faith, Sharon was a dedicated member of ResLife Church in Big Rapids, where she continued her calling to serve others. She loved helping families and found joy in building connections with her church community while honoring her Lord.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband, James Cox; her children, Lisa Cox and James (Debi) Cox; her grandchildren, Amanda (Charlie), Michael, Bailey, Shaun (Kimberly), Tasha (Chad), and Matthew (Anne); and her great-grandchildren, Quinn, Liam, Lakota, Kinsley, Dylan, Alyssa, Nathan, Travis, Jovie, Ethan, Adrien, and Mathilda. She also leaves behind her sister, Deanna (Jeff) Waber; her brother-in-law, Buddy Confer; sister in-law: Donna Croad; and many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Elaine, and her sisters Peggy and Susan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes in Big Rapids. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 5-7:00 P.M., and again on Friday, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. Sharon will be laid to rest at Highlandview Cemetery, Big Rapids. A luncheon will follow at Sugar Creek (Sharons Country) Restaurant, Rogers Heights.
