Sally Ann Olson, age 74, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home in Big Rapids. She was born on July 22, 1943 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Theodore and Susan (Emery) Spoelstra. Sally loved her church and often extended an invitation to everyone she met, regardless of the event, to come attend the Chippewa Lake Community Church. Her family and friends will remember the joy she had while sharing in their special occasions and creating memories with them.

Sally worked as a hairdresser for over 19 years, most of which was in Big Rapids. From there, she drove school bus for the Mecosta Osceola County Area Transit from which she retired.

Sally is survived by two children, Bradley (Julie) Olson of Ionia and Lisa (William) Worden of Big Rapids; one sister, Marian Bosma of Grand Rapids; one brother, Theodore W. Spoelstra Jr. of Hastings; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Susan; a brother Robert (Shirley) Spoelstra; her brother-in-law Jordan Bosma whom she adored and two sisters-in-law, Clara Marie and Marie Spoelstra.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Chippewa Lake Community Church, 10490 Lake Dr., please follow the detour signs for Dwight St. towards downtown Chippewa Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
