Ruth Ellen Sajnenkoff, 71, passed away surrounded by her loved ones, on September 10, 2024. She was born on June 13, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to Ross Edward Momany Jr. and Anna Marie Esch Momany. On February 5, 1973, Ruth married Andrew Sajnenkoff. As the daughter and wife of two career Air Force airmen, Ruth traveled the world, collecting trinkets and making lifelong friends. After settling back in Michigan, Ruth worked at Kmart and Chemical/TCF Bank, for many years, where her kindness and work ethic touched the lives of many. Ruth loved decorating and took pictures of her trinkets and decorations to ensure they were in just the right place.
Ruth loved all things blue and purple, she loved her gardens and plants, feeding the birds and lamenting the squirrels and woodchucks. She loved to lose herself in a good book, watch movies and Dove Chocolate was her guilty pleasure. Ruth loved jewelry and picked her clothing to match her jewelry, instead of the other way around.
Most of all, Ruth loved her family with a fierceness that was unrivaled. She was the best Daughter, Sister, Mother and Nama. Her family and friends will miss her every single day, striving to make Ruth proud, sharing all the love she gave us.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 51 years, Andrew Sajnenkoff; her children, Tasha (Steve) McBride and Todd (Erin) Sajnenkoff; her grandchildren, Chris (Kim Madera) McBride, Jacob (Courtney Jackson) McBride, Reid and Drew Sajnenkoff; and her great-grandchildren, James OMalley-Madera, Khaleesi and Michael Pickering. She is survived by her mother, Anna Borseth; her siblings, Deanne (Steve) Stouten, Ross (Sally) Momany, Ken (Anne) Momany, Don (Pat Merry) Borseth, Doreen, Elaine, Michele (Dee) and Steve Borseth; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her father, Ross Momany Jr and her step-father, Earl Borseth.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 1:00pm at Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until the time of the service.
