It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Moore, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on Monday, August 24th, 2026, at the age of 84. Ruth was born on Saturday, June 27th, 1942, and her legacy will be cherished by all who knew her.

Ruth dedicated many years of her life to working at Wolverine, skillfully sewing their shoes together. Afterward, she and her late husband, Carl Moore, turned to farming, where they devoted 20 fruitful years to cultivating the land and nurturing their community. Ruth had a passion for cooking and was renowned for baking the best pies around. Her love for the outdoors was reflected in her vibrant garden, and she enjoyed bowling and listening to music, which filled her heart with joy and serenity.

She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family: her sons, Carl Moore and Rick Moore; her cherished grandchild, Melanie Moore; and her great-grandchild, Alexandria Biebel. Ruth is also survived by her sister, Islla Cole, her brother, Richard Johnson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Carl Moore; her parents, George and Isla Moore, her son, Jerry Moore; and her grandchildren, Bethany and Stephanie Moore. Though gone from this world, their spirits reunite now in eternal peace.

Ruth was a woman of strength, love, and care, as described by her children. Her ability to inspire warmth and community among her loved ones will be missed dearly but held close in our hearts.

A graveside service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held at Higbee Cemetery in Morley, Michigan, on Friday, August 28th, 2026, at 11:00 am. Arrangements have been provided by Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids.
