Ruth Ann Baumann, age 71 of Remus, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Lakeview. She was born April 27, 1941 in Lakeview, MI to Herbert J. and Marguerite T. (Wernette) Baumann. Ruth Ann was employed by Hitachi for 41 years retiring in 2001. She was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Parish and has been a devote parishioner. Starting at the age of 18, Ruth Ann played the organ at St. Michael's for over 50 years. Due to failing eyesight, she had to give up her lifetime gift to the church. Ruth Ann is survived by her son Sean Chiles of Remus; two grandchildren; Tyler and Trent Chiles; 3 Brothers, Marvin (Carol) Baumann of Remus, Bernard (Bonnie) Baumann of Harrison, Terry (Sandie) Baumann of Cadillac; 3 Sisters Elaine (Dale) Crystal of Remus, Marilyn Baumann of Remus, Betty (Rich) Davis of Remus; special friend Thomas Patrick and many nieces, nephews and church family. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Herb Baumann, a sister Diane Marguerite Oleson and two sisters-in-law, Diane (VanMeter) Baumann and Marilyn (Sherlock) Baumann. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Remus with Father Phil Shangraw officiating. A wake in Ruth Ann's honor will be held on Friday, October 12th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at St. Michael's. Memorial contributions in Ruth Ann's name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
