Ruby Ruth Marcell age 76 of Remus passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Mid Michigan Community Hospital in Clare. Ruby was born June 26, 1930 in Church Hill, West Virginia to Willard and Velia (Carpenter) McCourt. Ruby was the proud owner of Thomas Wedding Cakes located in Livonia for a number of years. On March 23, 1989 she married Roy Marcell in Las Vegas and they made their home in Sherman Twp. Ruby was the happiest when she was spending time with other people. She loved to talk on the phone. Ruby took comfort in other people and was more than happy to cook and bake for a crowd. Ruby was loved very much by her family which includes: one daughter; Connie and Dave Glauner of Hagerman, Idaho, five sons; Robert and Charlotte McCourt of Garden City, Larry "Jackie" McCourt, Roy and Marilyn Marcell of Taylor, Daniel and Debra Marcell of Dearborn Heights, Randy and Carole Marcell of Britton, one brother; Cliff McCourt of Walled Lake, three sisters; Marie "Emma Gene" Paterson of California, Kathleen Mathiew of Arkansas, Marjorie Corum of Arkansas, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Besides her parents Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Roy on February 2, 1994, a son Alpha, infant daughter Sandy, brother Glen and sister Thelma McCourt. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 29th at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family will greet friends at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton, on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Ruby will be laid to rest at Sherman City Cemetery.
