Ruby Bertha Kirvan, age 98, of Barryton passed away August 17, 2009 in Lakeview. She was born June 19, 1911 in Sherman Twp., Isabella Co., Michigan to Andrew and Cora (Mesler) Lawrence. Ruby was married on June 13, 1930 in Sherman Twp. to Dewey Kirvan, son of William and Miranda (Paddock) Kirvan. They resided in Pontiac, Michigan until they retired to Barryton in 1970. Ruby has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Evart for over 35 years. She was an accomplished organ player and seamstress. Ruby enjoyed knitting and was always kind. Ruby is survived by 3 nieces, Yvonne (Herman) Koos of Grand Ledge, MI, Carol Fish of Auburn Hills, MI, Kathleen (Phil) Coon of Big Rapids, MI and 2 nephews, Garth (Judy) Lawrence of Weidman, MI and Russell Lawrence of Big Rapids, MI, many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, parents, brothers; Sidney, Herbert, Orren and James, and sisters; Edna, Mable, Lorena, Leora and Elsie. The family will greet friends at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton on Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and 6p.m. to 8p.m. Funeral services for Ruby will be held at 1p.m., Friday, August 21st at the Daggett Funeral Home with Pastor James Breithaupt officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weidman.
