Roy D. Cox, Jr. age 57 of Reed City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born September 16, 1966 the son of Dorothy Mae and Roy D. Cox, Sr. both of Reed City. He is survived by; his six children, Heather Cox, Phillip Cox, Ethan Cox all of Big Rapids, Devin Cox, Travis Cox, Catherine Cox all of Reed City; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his two sisters, Sue (Harvey) Bailey of Big Rapids, Angie (Dan) Stevens of Big Rapids, two brothers, Wayne (Cindy) Cox of Reed City and Terry Cites of Washington State. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Cindy Darko, Karen Cites Punsky and Patricia Cites; two brothers, Robert Cites and George Cites. Roy was always soft spoken, gentle, kind, and hard working. He met a lot of great people and made a lot of good friends during his career as a carpet and flooring installer. He was employed at Big Rapids Products for the last five years before moving to Virginia. Roy always said he wanted to move somewhere that was warm and on the ocean. He loved the beaches and water. He fulfilled that dream by moving to Virginia Beach with his partner and best friend, Andrea "Annie" Spohn. In Roys honor we would be blessed to have family and friends join us for a Celebration of Life. Roys Celebration will take place Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 5:00 p.m. at the Mecosta Township Hall in Rogers Heights at 19729 11 Mile Road.
