Ronica Reagan, age 64 of St. Ignace, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at her St. Ignace home with loving family and friends by her side. She was born March 3, 1959 in Muskegon, the daughter of Arlen "Art" and Carol (Carter) Reagan. Ronica graduated from Tri County High School and soon after married, moving to St. Ignace in 1978 to begin building her life. Ronica grew to become a well-known and respected business person and active member of the St. Ignace community. She will be remembered by many for the years she spent at the North Bay Inn Restaurant.
Ronica was a talented, artistic, and energetic person who never stopped learning; she could tackle any project from crafting to building. She was an excellent seamstress making clothes, teddy bears, upholstering furniture, and automobile interiors. She saw the beauty in nature whether it was gathering rocks on Lake Michigan, collecting quills, or finding four leaf clovers and creating something truly stunning from her treasures. She loved horses and shared her riding talents with the local 4-H and special Olympic participants. Ronicas beautiful smile and friendly personality gave her the ability to make fast and forever friends where ever she went.
She is survived by her beloved family including her daughter, Erin and husband Ray Laakko of Minnetonka, Minnesota, her son, James Clapperton of Vashon Island, Washington, three grandchildren; Elias Laakko, Max, and Joelee Clapperton; four sisters, Roxanne Lyon of White Cloud, Raquel (Ken) Malocha of Traverse City, Gaye (George) Alverson of Howard City, Laurie (Bruce) Anderson of Pierson; brothers, Randy Reagan of Six Lakes, Mike (Tammy) Reagan of Newaygo and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ronica was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Steven, Tom and infant Roderick; a brother-in-law; Greg Lyon and a sister-in-law, Tonya Reagan.
A celebration of Ronicas life will take place Friday, October, 20, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Morley American Legion.
Memorial contributions in Ronicas name may be made to a charity of the donors choice however Ronica would prefer you consider a gift to your local historical society.
