Ronald W. Richter, 56, peacefully passed away while the nurses gathered around, on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Grand Rapids with his family at his side. He was born on January 29, 1960 in Clare, MI to Lyman and Kayla (Donders) Richter. Ron was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He graduated from Chippewa Hills High School in 1978 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served from 1978 to 1982 aboard the USS Gridley. Ron is survived by his parents, Lyman and Kayla of Sears; his girlfriend, Janet Bennett; children, Sidney Richter and Toni Richter of Sears, Ronald (Rebecca Maxon) Richter of Mecosta, Lori (Bruce) Betty of Las Vegas, NV, Sarah McKay of Evart and Lisa (Edward) Moggo of Clear Lake, WI; proud grandpa to 13 grandchildren, Buck, Ilise, McKenzy, Haylee, Hunter, Kaleb, Christian, Magnum, Eva, Anna, Remi, Bo and Sophia; his maternal grandfather, Robert "Toad" Donders of Sears; siblings, Robert Richter of Evart, Becky (Dennis) Donley of Barryton and many, extended family and friends who will continue to treasure the memories they have and always remember Ron was "bad to the bone". Ron was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, David and Mildred Richter; maternal grandmother, Margaret Miller and maternal step-grandmother, Oneta Donders. A celebration of life for Ron will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Barryton Community Building (3265 20 Mile Rd.). Memorial donations in Rons name can be made to his family for final expenses.
